Choosing a Shuttle for a COUPLE:-

So many of our customers are just travelling together without the children or grandchildren and are therefore looking for a Shuttle Chef more suited to their requirements.

There are a number of options available depending on your meal requirements and how you like to cook.

OPTION ONE:-

The RPC 4500 Shuttle Chef has a single 4.5 litre inner saucepan with a locking lid and carry handle to make it easier to transport, this enables you to cook larger individual ingredients such as Roasting pieces, large Chickens or Corned Silver-side.

This 4.5 litre volume means that you will probably be cooking once for a couple of meals so you will need to refrigerate the remainder into another container for later use.

If this Shuttle Chef would suit your requirements you can follow this link to purchase:-RPC 4500

This is a very handy sized unit however if you would like to cook a much smaller meal just for yourselves then you will also need the Bain Marie to allow you to divide this larger saucepan into two separate areas so that you can cook a smaller meal and have boiling water underneath the Bain Marie (in the main saucepan) to maintain the temperature or even cook a main meal below and have your rice or vegetables in the Bain Marie.

This Bain Marie (or Top Pot) actually hangs from the lip of the inner saucepan and is approximately 1.2 litres in capacity and has a very heavy base to enable you to use it as a normal saucepan when required or for bringing your meal up to temperature ready for placing it inside the inner saucepan.

You can see the different meal sizes you can achieve using the Bain Marie inside of the inner saucepan.

This combination is ideal in that it allows you to cook a small meal, large meal or two meals at the same time such as rice and a curry or vegetables and a casserole or even a desert and a main meal.

The Bain Marie is also ideal as a "double boiler" so that you can either re-heat pre-cooked meals without actually re-cooking them or use it to cook meals such as puddings, quiches, lasagna etc. using the steam from boiling water underneath the Bain Marie in the larger saucepan.

These inner saucepans have a heavy duty base and can be used as "daily saucepans" on any stove top or heat source which will save you the inconvenience of carrying additional saucepans for every day use.

If this Shuttle Chef and the Bain Marie would suit your requirements you can follow this link to purchase:- RPC 4500 with Bain Marie

OPTION TWO:-

The RPC 6000 W is a six litre Shuttle Chef with two 3 litre inner saucepans and comes with a locking lid and a carry handle to make it easy to transport.

The two 3 litre inner saucepans are ideal for curry and rice, meat and vegetables or even a soup and a main meal or a desert and a main meal at the same time

If you would like to cook only a small meal in one saucepan it is best to bring the second saucepan to the boil 3/4 full and place this as the bottom saucepan in the Shuttle Chef to maximise the "thermal mass" and retain temperatures for the longest period.

These inner saucepans have a heavy duty base and can be used as "daily saucepans" on any stove top or heat source which will save you the inconvenience of carrying additional saucepans for every day use.

The use of two separate inner saucepans means that you can cook two totally different styles of meal at the same time such as a meal that would ordinarily require and oven.

If this Shuttle Chef suits your requirements you can follow this link to purchase:-  RPC 6000 W

Alternatively there is a large single 6 litre inner Shuttle Chef for those occasions when a large quantity is required (cooking larger quantities and freezing portions for later) or when cooking a whole leg of lamb, a large ham hock or larger piece of silver-side etc.

If this Shuttle Chef would better suit your requirements you can purchase the KOB 60001 (6 litre inner saucepan) as an accessory

Two make this a more versatile combination you can purchase the Bain Marie to divide this large saucepan into two separate ares.

This is a very handy sized unit that will allow you to cook a larger portion as well as a smaller portion at the same time.

However if you would like to cook a much smaller meal just for yourselves then you will also need the Bain Marie to allow you to divide this larger saucepan into two separate areas so that you can cook a smaller meal and have boiling water underneath the Bain Marie (in the main saucepan) to maintain the temperature or even cook a main meal below and have your rice or vegetables in the Bain Marie.
